The Importance of Primary Source Reporting in Modern Warzones
Touching on the early paragraph about the corporate media - what do you think of NewsCorp buying BSkyB. I'm amazed it's been allowed, in fact I can't see why they were allowed to acquire a stake in the first place.
If I was in charge of these things I'd forbid any 1 person or corporation to own anymore than 1 media outlet. Are we headed for a situation like Italy where dear old Silvio owns everything?, or dear old Rupert in our case.
It does seem amazing that they were able to shift around a few shares and suddenly it's not considered a monopoly, i don't fully understand, obviously they funded and vocally supported the tory election victory and this is the payback.
It makes sense to have no one person or corporation to have ownership or interest any two organisations competing in the same media field, but unfortunatly Rupert has gotten too powerful to say no to now
